Jason Cornell
Vice President/Senior Planner

Mr. Cornell is Vice President and Senior Planner at Environmental Transportation Planning, LLC. He brings to the ETP team 19 years of experience in environmental planning and transportation impact assessment in Florida and is helping to expand ETP's presence in Florida. In addition to his marketing role, Jason serves as a noise specialist, noise barrier public involvement coordinator, and ETP's lead environmental planner.

Jason completed the FHWA and FDOT training courses in Highway Traffic Noise, is certified to use the FHWA Traffic Noise Model (TNM), and is a past FDOT Noise Task Team member. He is skilled in environmental analysis document development and quality assurance review, Geographic Information Systems (ArcGIS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), map creation, and interpreting complex construction and site plans.

While serving as Environmental Supervisor/Specialist at FDOT District 2, Jason assessed, documented, and provided oversight on transportation impact analyses related to traffic noise, air quality, wetlands, wildlife and habitat, threatened and endangered species, and essential fish habitat.  He is trained in environmental and ecological principles, concepts, and regulations, and basic scientific data collection methods.

Jason's tenure with FDOT gave him hands-on experience with the complete project development process from collaboration in the early planning process, through the PD&E, final design and interagency coordination phases, to final construction.  He has shepherded all types of environmental documents through the state and federal approval process, including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, and Reevaluations.  Additionally, he assisted in the state and federal permitting process and the review of documentation related to archaeological and historical resources, Section 106 and Section 4(f), and contamination.

His knowledge of NEPA and the FDOT PD&E Manual enables him to develop and provide quality assurance of discipline reports and environmental documents necessary to satisfy state and federal requirements.  This knowledge is evident when he engages in interagency coordination and communication with project stakeholders on behalf of our clients.
